Makanan Otak??

Assalamualaikum wbt & hello Bluegy!

I know it's fasting month, but I can't help myself to share with you on this interesting slide show about FOOD~ well, not just food...but THE BRAIN FOODS...foods that help your brain to focus & concentrate.

People often put the attitude of "i-don't-really- care" of "things" they eat..especially students - well i'm referring to 'US' of course. Especially, when studying overseas.. choices of food are somehow ..hmm..quite limited compared to our country - dubbed the 'food paradise'.

Nutritionist agreed on FISH being the ultimate BRAIN FOOD , but here in Dublin ..Fish is rarely in the main menu since it can be quite expensive. Most of us here, have chicken dish with rice everyday. YES, EVERYDAY.Trust me, you won't get bored of it. Well, at least i'm not.

Medical students crammed their heads most of the time especially when exams' around the corner. And there comes 'caffeine' as the 'popular remedy' for some students including me (huhu) when it comes to burning the midnight oil. However, excessive intake of caffeine should always be avoided.

Bear in mind that caffeine 'exist' not just in coffee/Nescafe. They hide themselves successfully in chocolates, dark chocolates, tea , energy drinks & also in medications such as Lemsip to name one. So, when you think that you are not taking any caffeine today...well, think again~

For Muslims, in this month of Ramadhan , we learn to control every aspect of our actions including our desire for foods. Hence, it is best for us to also ponder on all the foods that we usually take. Too much of everything is always not good for our health.(el A’raf, 7:31) After all, we are what we eat. To eat Halal foods is one thing. But to eat Good Foods is another thing that we should also consider seriously.(el-Maidah ,5:88)
